A high-performing secondary school in London is seeking an exceptional Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant to join its academic support team. This role is open to graduates across all subject areas and is ideal for candidates who want to gain high-quality classroom experience before progressing into teacher training.

The Role

As a Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers across your subject specialism and the wider curriculum. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group academic support to pupils.
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and learning resources.
  • Helping to maintain a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils’ progress, engagement, and confidence.
  • Gaining valuable insight into teaching practice and school life.

This role offers a structured and supportive introduction to teaching, making it excellent preparation for PGCE, Schools Direct, or other teacher training pathways.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a minimum 2:1 degree from a Russell Group university in their subject specialism.
  • Have a genuine interest in education and working with young people.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are professional, proactive, and committed to personal development.
  • Have a desire to train as a teacher in the future.

Previous experience in a school setting is welcome but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
