KPI recently took on AO in a tightly contested 90 minutes which saw us prevail by two goals to one. The match was played at the home of Crewe Alexandra, Gresty Road. KPI were behind at the break but were instructed to keep playing the way they had in the first 45 and to take that into the rest of the game. Not only did we manage to level but managed to score twice to take the bragging rights. The players were jubilant in the dressing rooms after the contest and went on to share a pint or two in the Carlsberg lounge afterwards.
“It was a great day for both sides and the supporters” said manager, Nick Mooney. “The match was played in great spirits by the teams and was a tight game throughout the 90 minutes. We went in at half time a goal behind but all we needed to do was to try and get back into the game. We scored twice to go ahead and with some outstanding defending backed up by superb goal keeping from our keeper, we managed to hold onto the lead to take the game 2-1.
The match was very well supported by both AO and KPI supporters.
AO did not take defeat lightly and are already plotting revenge for next year”.
